Riptunes MP3 PlayerThe Riptunes MP3 Player that is sold at Toys-R-Us is next to worthless even though it only costs about $20. I don't recall any MP3 players that gets more complaints. If you want to get a fairly cheap MP3 Player for your kids there a lot of better choices. You probably came looking for information on the Riptunes MP3 Player. Well, let me sum it up in a quick fashion for you. The controls, instructions, music quality, and manufacturing is absolutely the worst we've seen for kids or adults. I've never seen so many unhappy buyers on any MP3 Player. Now you can't expect much for $20 these days but even considering the low price this product stinks. If you haven't purchased this unit, it's not a very good idea to do so, if you have already purchased Riptunes MP3 Player, take it back. It's not you (many complaints center around the instructions and basic operations that don't work), trust me it's the unit. It's just not worth the time or effort to even try and make it work. There are other low cost Kid MP3 Players that are a huge improvement over the Riptunes MP3 Player. And some are even less money. But all are a much better quality device across the board. So always remember anything you buy for say a 10 year old and below should be able to take some abuse in handling. Plus there is the losing it issue, leaving it in harms way, or even letting it be stolen. Kids will be kids so you should always take that in consideration when buying any electronic device. Electronics that are designed for children should make them with the above factors in mind. Most do but some just plain cheap and poorly designed products like the Riptunes MP3 Player don't. And when they expressly market them through toy stores like Toys R Us, the toy store should be a little more selective in products they carry. So I guess it's up to the parents to insure that they get what they pay for and not be taken in by such lousy devices. Too often the saying you get what you pay for has come to haunt us, especially with all the toys coming from China theses days. That's not to say there aren't some good manufacturers in China, it's just that some push the cost down so much the quality suffers. |
